Mimi's Beach Party!

Kim and Tom are busy at a down town hotel putting on Wesleyan's Annual Fund Raising Gala. Mary is out of town on a girl's retreat and Mike is busy with Joe at the baseball field with team pictures and a game to follow. Of course Grandad has gone to his second game of the day, first Ford's, now Joe's, so...Andrew, Emily, Isabelle, William and I had a beach party! Sand, water and snacks, included....
In between games, Grandad was sent after boxes at Linens and Things and to Home Depot for sand so we could create our own beach castles!

We found extra tee-shirts in Kate's room and Grandad's closets so everyone could get warm and dry to take a well needed rest in front of the TV.

Got to go...time to fix dinner and tomorrow we are all going to church! Thank be to God for the gift! Oh, the joys of being a Mimi...

..wonder what and with whom next week will bring...

Hope you had a nice week end too.

-Mimi/Mom/Merry

P.S. I have a few extra sand boxes for those grandchildren that couldn't join us. I'll keep them for you. :)

Stack stone and brick...

Check it out! The new Regas house is taking shape and this picture is about two weeks old!
I know they will be happy for the added space, especially after 9 months in the, nice but small, two bedroom condo.
With Joe in baseball and Isabelle playing soccer; the summer will busily fly by and they will be in their new house before they know it...then we party!
P.S. I hope everyone is enjoying Kate's pictures (below) like I am. I will update you on Mike and Mary's house as the house advances and I get more pictures.
As always,
Mimi

Trip Pics

Trip pictures are finally in!

I've uploaded a select few (about 350 out of 1000) images onto Facebook for your viewing pleasure - the links are below, divided into albums according to place (click on the text, not the image). I wouldn't recommend saving them to your hard drive because a) you have to do it one at a time and getting several might take awhile; b) they're lower resolution/quality than the originals. If you want any particular images in hi-res, let me know and I'll email them to you. (Mom/Dad, I'll send you cds with all the pictures, snail-mail, if you want). Peruse at your leisure! If you have problems opening the links, let me know.

Love love love,
Kate

Visit with Nana

I had a lovely five days with Nana this week and thought I would share...

First of all, when I stepped into the house I was delighted to see how beautiful she and the house looked. A new carpet has replaced the well used old green shag and a new sofa with new lamps flanking it side has improved the family gathering rooming. I am hard pressed to keep up with this Modern Milly Nana of ours. She continues to live life to it's fullest. And 600 North Church Street has never looked better, not to mention the furnace duck work still is revealing it secrets (joke, ask Nana about it.)

For all of you who haven't had a
chance to visit in a while, I encourage you to go and "touch the green, green grass of home."
Thank you Nana for a sweet visit.
I sure do love you,
-Merry/Mimi/Mom

Hello, everyone!

Just a quick shoutout to all you homeslices. I have a new address!! It is:

Kate Croft
61 Decatur Street ( georgia on my mind! holla!)
Garden Level
Brooklyn, NY
11216

Everything is still in boxes, so if you're wondering why I haven't updated about the trip or where the pics are...the little cable thingy that connects my camera to the computer is in a box somewhere. But never fear! I have somewhere in the rough estimation of 800 photos to bore you with in the very near future. In the meantime, I MISS YOU ALL, and love following these little snippets of your lives.

Send out good vibes for the new place. It's in a lovely brownstone in historic Brooklyn Heights, and it had a yard(!!!). No furniture, but a yard...

I love you all!

The Children's School Presents...

THE LION KING
starring:
(in Mimi's mind)
**Morgan Croft**

What a great night Grandad and I had last yesterday at the TCS production of "The Lion King". In her second sold out performance of the day, Morgan signed her expressive heart out as the actors sang their songs. She was so beautiful that I had a tear in the corner of my eye while watching her perform (Molly warned me this would happen.). I think we will be telling Morgan to "Break-a-leg" many more times in her future!

Also in attendance were Shannon, Molly, Ford and Beth. A great time was had by all.

Way-To-Go Morgan! Personally, I am glad you are in MY circle of life. Hakuna Matata!!

"Life is like a box of chocolate...

...You never know what you are going to get."

Mike and family are out of town on Spring Break. He sent this picture today by email and it is just too cute not to post!

Mike reports, "The pic is in front of Bubba Gump Shrimp Company...those were Forest Gumps shoes."

"And that's all I have to say about that."

-Mimi =)

P.S. Hope to get more Spring break news from the rest of you in the near future!

Getting The Job done!

The only good news I have is that your father cleaned the gutters at Northcroft this week end. he he

Oh, and Morgan is in a performance of the Lion King on the 11th. Grandad and I got a sneak preview and she is great signing to "Circle of Life" and Timon's part in "Hakuna Matata".

I also heard that Andrew is working hard training for his physical fitness test. He's got the family running around the school track with him. William even did the final two laps!

It was great sitting with, not two but, four of my grandchildren in church last week. Isabelle and Joe came to visit while they are living close by in their temporary home. What a treat for me! =)

Kate and Jeremy are back in New York starting a new life after a wonderful five week trip to France, Spain and Ireland. Wishing them luck with jobs and a place to live. Jeremy started his new job with NYU this week (with time off to apartment hunt). I'm sure Kate will fill us in when she lights in a permanent place.

Let's not forget that Kristin has a birthday on the 18th of this month. Boy, that was more good news than I thought I had!

Don't forget to let us know what is going on in your life. Hope you had a good week end.

-Mimi ...and Grandad says Hey.

Sportsmanship Award!

I got an e-mail this morning from the very proud mother of grandson Joe Regas. I think it needs repeating so we can be proud together...

"Joe received the PE award for the 2nd grade at school for the best overall 'sportsmanship', conduct and abilities!!"

To all you sport lovers out there, the ability thing is fun to watch and makes you big time proud at the games, but for this Mimi, the sportsmanship/conduct recognition is HUGE! My buttons are popping!!! WAY TO GO JOE! Keep up the good work.

(Mary also notes: "Joe is following in his Dad's footsteps!")

The birthday party that lasted all night!

Guess who stayed for dinner...Isadora, Morganza and Emolie....

Better known as: Emily, Morgan and Isabelle

We had a ball!
-Mimi :)

William turns 3!!

Today is a special day -- William turned three! He was very excited about his birthday, especially since last weekend we celebrated Cousin Emily's birthday. William wanted to blow out Emily's candles which Emily was not too thrilled about. So today he got to blow out his very own candles on a cool chocolate puzzle cake -- another creative production by Tom and Kim. Right when we were reading Kate's blog, Kate herself called! How cool is that? Thanks for calling Kate. I figured out how to do skype.com too. isn't it cool? Now we are debating whether Emily, Isabelle and Morgan are all going to spend the night at Mimi and Grandad's house. It is going to be a rocking night at the grandparent's house tonight. I think we should all spend the night here. Love, Aunt Molly

From Birthday princess to the dancing queen

Emily had a sweet birthday party with all the makings to stuff polar bears. Andrew arranged a fun twist to an old favorite .."Musical Bears" and of course Tom's cake original! Morgan crafted a beautiful bear on canvass and Isabelle contributed to Emily's love of art with her own set of blendy pens.
The princess by day transformed into a dancing queen by night. Tom and Emily had a father/daughter dance to end the birthday celebration(s) (at long last). Oh, to be 8 again.........

Emily turns 8

Emily woke up this morning with smiles. Breakfast is our time to celebrate. And we had a sweet celebration for our Emly this morning. Her breakfast request was double chocolate waffles and fruit. Tom printed out the many faces of Emily and we used them as chandelier decorations. She had many presents to open. And she was delighted. Morgan called to wish her cousin happy birthday. She was sent to school with her favorite snack to share with her friends. It was a happy and blessed morning. Tom and I are so thankful for the gift of Emily. Happy Birthday my little girl.

Look what I found! Molly has left a new comment on your post "Memories from Christmas Past...":

to be honest, I have not checked out this site since it first got started and I am VERY impressed. I have no clue whether this post works or not but i'm experimenting. ford has his last basketball game tomorrow. they have lost EVERY game the entire season so please keep your fingers crossed that they win at least one! ford got asked to be on an ALTA tennis team so that is pretty cool. Morgan is busy doing her rockclimbing -- that is quickly becoming her new sport. I even have a harness so I can belay her. she has been asked by the Coach to join the climbing team when she gets a little older. the rock climbing wall is just 5 blocks away so an easy walk. but the biggest news of all is that last night Shannon got asked to be an official assistant coach for Ford's new baseball team. He has always been an unofficial assistant to the assistant but this is a huge deal. the head coach is a really nice guy who lives very close to us. the cutest thing is how excited ford is about it which is very sweet. shannon is already studying all the rules so he is ready to be the one to argue with the officials (sorry Grandad, but you will have to not say anything rude since now you will have an official role as the "Father of the Assistant Coach." I am feeling pretty powerful as the "Wife of the Assistant Coach" (I already got business cards made). All the other parents are going to be trying to schmooze me thinking I can help their kid get moved up in the order. Maybe I could even have a reserved seat in the bleachers. Maybe I won't even have to bring snacks! yeah, right. I told Ford I would fill in for Shannon when he could not be there which scared him a lot. thanks to those of you who checked out the updated Croft web site.
